If you’ve been keeping up with new music, you’d know what a busy week we just had. Among many other releases, last week we saw drops by Rauw Alejandro, Fuego, Rosalia, Cardi B and of course, Bad Bunny.

On Friday, El Conejo Malo dropped his collaboration with Tainy, “Callaita,” which came along with a feel good summer vibe video about turning up at the beach and living your best life. But even though legions of Bad Bunny fans awoke to the pleasant surprise of new material, one man woke up having to eat his words for breakfast.

According to a Facebook post, Pepo García awoke to the news that his daughter Natalia had landed the lead role in the “Callaita” video opposite Bad Bunny. And considering his previous outspoken stance about San Benito, it’s impossible not to find the entire situation funny. His post read:

“Those who know me, know I’m not a huge fan of Bad Bunny. A few months ago I made a post criticizing the message of some of his music, and that of his foundation. One of the people who disagreed with me was my youngest daughter, Natalia, who stayed ‘Callaita.’ After this post, Natalia began a career in modeling, and to my surprise, this morning she called to let me know her first job in her new career was as the main model in Bad Bunny’s new video for “Callaita,” which just came out. [When it rains, it pours], and 5 months ago neither of us knew she was going to embark on a modeling career, much less that her first job would be in a Bad Bunny video. Life brings so many surprises!!! Diversity. So, ‘Callaito’…”

The good thing is García seems to be taking the news in stride, and even advocates for “diversity” on his post, which shows there’s always room for growth and understanding. Here’s hoping García and Natalia find some time to celebrate her success soon.
