After releasing its lineup for the Austin edition next year, the Bésame Mucho music festival officially canceled its Los Angeles edition yesterday (Nov. 25). The 2024 Bésame Mucho festival was scheduled to take place at the Dodger Stadium on Dec. 21 with major headliners like Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, Los Tigres Del Norte, and Banda MS.

“We are heartbroken to share that due to circumstances beyond our control, this year’s Besamu Mucho Festival in Los Angeles at Dodger Stadium will no longer take place,” the official statement shared online said. “We take great pride in our annual celebration of exceptional music and culture, connecting generations in a way no other event can.”

It continued: “After working tirelessly all year to bring you another unforgettable show in December, we are deeply disappointed to share this news.” The message also shares that tickets purchased from their ticket company Front Gate Tickets will be automatically refunded “in as little as” 30 days.

The artists originally scheduled to play were revealed on May 21, with one of the most legendary lineups yet. Ahead of her new arena tour dates, Shakira was going to headline the festival’s Beso Stage with other icons like Juanes, Carlos Vives, Belanova, Enanitos Verdes, and Hombres G. Over at the Pop Stage, Enrique Iglesias was to headline. Pitbull, Paulina Rubio, Danna, Yuridia, and Amanda Miguel were also going to take that stage.

The Clasicos stage was to be headlined by Los Tigres Del Norte. Other performers included Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Alicia Villareal, Bobby Pulido, and Conjunto Primavera. The Banda Stage was going to be headlined by Banda MS, with other performers like La Adictiva, El Fantasma, Banda Los Sebastianes, and Pancho Barraza.

Though we don’t know the actual reasons why the festival was canceled, some speculations are being discussed online. It could be due to the festival’s changes, which might’ve hurt ticket sales. One of the most talked-about changes from the festival’s first editions was replacing the Rockeros Stage with the Banda Stage. Another reason could be due to the venue’s renovations. And according to Rolling Stone, sources said it had to do with Shakira’s new stadium tour and dates, which no longer align.
