Who is the badass pregnant trumpeter on the Renaissance Tour? The Latina musician has been performing with Beyoncé, a highlight for many concert-goers. Crystal Torres has also worked with artists like Karol G, Alejandro Sanz, and Jay-Z. From what we know, she is a multi-talented artist to watch out for.

On her official website, Torres notes she goes by the artistic name Crystal the Indigo. According to her bio, she was born in Philadelphia, PA, and she’s of Puerto Rican and Italian descent. Torres has released a few independent songs like “Sundays on Repeat” and “This Feeling.” The list of people she has performed with also includes Lupe Fiasco, Jennifer Lopez, and Stalley.

In addition to singing, Torres can also play the piano and the trumpet. Prior to working with Beyoncé on the Renaissance Tour, she was a part of the Suga Mama band formed by the pop icon in 2006. The all-women group was named after the song “Suga Mama” on Beyoncé’s B’Day album. In addition to doing live performances, Torres played the trumpet on Beyoncé’s 2013 hit “Blow” and Jay-Z’s song “Bam.”

Many people who have gone to the Renaissance Tour have loved seeing Torres perform with her. Torres is currently pregnant and wowing the audience with her trumpet-playing skills. On Twitter, one fan wrote to her, “You and the baby are working that Renaissance stage!!!” Torres responded, “Thank you!!! Can’t wait to see how these core memories of joy shape her.”

Earlier this year, Torres also teamed up with a Latina superstar, Karol G. The Colombian singer enlisted Torres to play the trumpet for her NPR Tiny Desk concert, released back in May. Like Beyoncé, Karol G had an all-women band join her for the intimate performance.

Torres performed with Beyoncé over the weekend during her two sold-out concerts at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA. Beyoncé celebrated her birthday during the Sep. 4 show.
