Britney Spears has not been holding back on Instagram regarding her conservatorship and the reality of her livelihood and career under it. Her latest: On Sunday, September 25, the singer spoke more about her experience, detailing her time “locked up” at home. “My family locking me up in that place for four months,” she wrote in the screenshot image of a note.

The unexpected part of her post was her mention of fellow entertainer Jennifer Lopez. “I’d like to see somebody tell Jennifer Lopez to sit down 8 hours a day, 7 days a week,” before mentioning her again, “I’d like to see a management team tell Jennifer Lopez to go through what I went through.”

There’s no explanation why Lopez was named, but it’s possible to assume that it was just a mere comparison, given they’re both massive stars who’ve been in the industry for a considerable time. Some online have shared their take on the situation, explaining that they don’t believe there’s anything negative about the JLo mentions. “Britney isn’t attacking JLO , she is using her as a comparison she is saying JLO another strong female entertainer would never be put in a Cship,” wrote one Twitter user. “And her family would never allow her to go through what Britney’s family allowed her to go through.”

In the same post, Spears also took the time to declare that she wasn’t returning as a performer. “I’d rather stay home and [expletive] in my [expletive] pool than join the entertainment business,” she continued. “I’m not going to play the victim HIT ME BABY ONE MORE TIME???”

In August, Lopez sent a message of support to Spears via Twitter after she quoted her during an ongoing public feud with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. “@BritneySpears #StayStrong,” she tweeted.

Last November, a Los Angeles court ended the conservatorship overseeing Britney Spears’ life and finances for 14 years. “The conservatorship of the person and estate of Britney Jean Spears is no longer required,” said Judge Brenda Penny. “The conservatorship is hereby terminated.”
