Singing love birds Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello are making the best of the COVID-19 pandemic and letting their love blossom by cohabiting together during this strange time. Mendes appeared on Tuesday’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and gushed about how lovely it’s been to spend the pandemic with his love Cabello. The 22-year-old singer-songwriter is staying safe at home in Cabello’s house in Miami with her pomeranian. “This is home,” he said.
Mendes said it had been challenging to create music during the onslaught of the pandemic and was in a “full panic state” when he moved in with Cabello. The former Fifth Harmony singer ended up being a process of creating his new album, Wonder. The album, which he says is an album about freedom, is slated to be released on December 4. He told her what he wanted the album to be about and invited her to share her opinion and support while he was making the album.
Like all couples who move in together, Mendes confessed that there was an adjustment period from being a pop star on the road to staying at home with his girlfriend, but said that overall it’s been “really nice” to have a home base with Cabello. He was used to living out of hotel rooms for nearly a decade.
The two have been partaking in typically domestic activities that are all-too-normal to us mere mortals such as cooking eggs for breakfast, doing laundry, and taking the dog for a walk. “You have your coffee mug you use the same one every day and it just becomes really nice. Which sounds so normal for everyone else, but it’s abnormal for me,” Mendes said. Mendes recently lovingly called “reina” in an Instagram post caption of the two lounging in their pajamas in the kitchen.
