Cardi B has taken to her Instagram to clap back at Jermaine Dupri – a once-great record producer who had plenty of hits before most of Gen z and many Millenials were old enough to buy music – for his comments about the current state of women in hip-hop.

On a recent interview with People, Dupri made his thoughts clear when asked about women rappers. “I can’t really say. I feel they’re all rapping about the same thing,” he said. “I don’t think they’re showing us who’s the best rapper. For me, it’s like strippers rapping and as far as rap goes I’m not getting who’s the best.”

Never one to shy-away from voicing her opinion, Cardi quickly took to Instagram to clap back at Durpri for his washed comments. “Okay guys I have seen a lot of people saying nowadays female rappers only talk about their p*ssy and now that Jermaine Dupri brought it up, I’m going to say something.”

“First of all, I rap about my p*ssy because she’s my best friend, and second of all it’s because it seems like that’s what people want to hear,” Cardi continued.

“When I did ‘Be Careful‘ people was talking mad s*it in the beginning like ‘What the f*ck is this?’ ‘This is not what I was expecting.’”

Cardi also mentioned various women rappers who don’t necessarily rap about their anatomy, and how they receive very little mainstream support.

Nevermind the overall absurdity about the fact that male rappers have been rapping about their anatomy since rap was invented.
