Rumors are swirling on Twitter that Nicki Minaj and Cardi B may have a collab in the works. While the news isn’t super concrete we’re excited by the possibility that the two rappers may be putting their feud behind them to work on new music together. Cardi B fed the fire in a recent tweet where she teased an upcoming collab that’s going to give fans “something mad to be about.” People initially thought the tweet alluded to potential music with her estranged husband Offset but now it seems the October 8th tweet may have been about dropping a new hit with her sworn enemy—Nicki Minaj.
If the rumors are true, the two may be making music together with a collaborative song by the name of “Lavish.” A supposed clip from the song leaked on Twitter. It’s not clear if the potential collab means the two are burying the hatchet or practicing the age-old social rule of keeping your friend’s close and your enemies closer. We hope the new song will make a reference to Cardi B chucking her shoe at Nicki Minaj during New York Fashion Week in 2018 a la Beyonce referring to Jay Z and Solange’s elevator fight.
Some fans thought that Cardi B was squashing her beef with Minaj back in August during an interview with Apple Music. Cardi went on the record to talk about the legacy of female rappers and seemed to pay respect to “one female rapper that dominated for a very long time.” Many thought she was talking about her arch-nemesis, Minaj.
