Five-time Grammy-winning singer Christina Aguilera released a new Spanish-language single Friday (October 22), and we’re hoping there are plenty more tracks to follow.

Along with Aguilera, the song, “Pa Mis Muchachas” includes Latin Grammy Award-nominated artists Becky G, Nicki Nicole, and Nathy Peluso. The opening of the song, which features smooth guitar sounds, was teased earlier this week in a short 15-second clip Aguilera posted on social media.

In “Pa Mis Muchachas,” Aguilera sings about the fearlessness and independence of a group of women who don’t have to ask for permission for anything from anyone. These women have “strength, fire, and dynamite.”

“Be careful with this mamacita,” she sings in “Pa Mis Muchachas” while at another she says, “When I’m crying, I mix my tears with tequila and lime.” That sounds like our type of fierce, Latina queen.

The music video for “Pa Mis Muchachas” also follows two storylines. First, Aguilera enters a club dressed in a black leather outfit where she walks around looking at all the well-to-do patrons. The other narrative takes audiences into a shady underworld where Aguilera plays a crime boss surrounded by a group of henchwomen and rottweilers. Becky G, Peluso, and then Nicole join the party as the video continues and the drinks keep pouring in the club.

In April, Aguilera revealed that she was working on a second Spanish-language album. Her first was 2000’s Mi Reflejo, which won a Latin Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Album. In 2018, Mi Reflejo was ranked No. 10 on Billboard’s Top 20 Latin Albums of All Time.

When commenting on a second Spanish-language album, Aguilera said it was “about 20 years overdue” and that it has been “really fun to get into some family roots and explore who I am now as a woman musically.”

With Aguilera’s second Spanish-language album coming sometime in the future, there’s always a chance that “Pa Mis Muchachas” makes the cut. Here’s to hoping the rest of the album is just as enjoyable as this first single.
