Daddy Yankee will be hosting a free virtual concert. The Puerto Rican rapper announced that he will be airing a free virtual concert featuring a compilation of his 2019 Coliseo de Puerto Rico series this Friday, Dec. 4.

“This Friday you have a date to see the best reggaetón concert completely FREE!,” Daddy Yankee wrote on Instagram. In a video announcement, he acknowledges the COVID-19 pandemic we’re in, while offering to bring the party to your home with his virtual concert experience.

Also in the video announcement, Daddy Yankee gives a preview to the concert that he’s dubbed “DY2K20.” The reggaetón pioneer is shown performing “Machucando” from his 2005 album Barrio Fino en Directo. Behind him there is a massive 3D-generated gorilla.

“This year has been difficult for all of us and what better way to the Christmas season, if not by remembering and celebrating the anniversary of one of my greatest achievements as an artist and I hope it fills you all with great joy,” Daddy Yankee further said in a statement.

The achievement Daddy Yankee is referring to is his 12 sold-out concerts last December at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico. DY2K20 will be a digital compilation of those 12 Con Calma Pa’l Choli concerts put into one spectacular show. Special guests at those concerts included Yankee’s fellow Boricua superstars like Ozuna, Wisin y Yandel, Bad Bunny, and Nicky Jam.

Daddy Yankee’s virtual concert will be streaming on his YouTube channel on Friday, Dec. 4 at 8 P.M. EST. This will be a three-part series with the second part streaming on Dec. 14 and the third and final part following on Dec. 21.
