According the latest numbers by YouTube, Latin music stays winning this year. Puerto Rican legend Daddy Yankee tops the list of the most-viewed music videos of 2019 with his global hit “Con Calma.” Over half of the rest of the top 10 is filled out with other Latinx superstars like J Balvin, Anuel AA, Karol G and Maluma.

Daddy Yankee co-stars with his collaborator, Canadian rapper Snow, in cartoonish music video for “Con Calma,” which has amassed over 1.5 billion views on YouTube. In the No. 2 spot is the most-viewed music video by a female artist, Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalía, and her música urbana crossover “Con Altura” featuring J Balvin and her co-producer El Guincho. As of press time, the high-flying clip is also the only one by a female artist this year to surpass a billion views.

At No. 3 is música urbana’s power couple Karol G and Anuel AA with “Secreto,” the home video-styled clip where they revealed their relationship to the world. Anuel’s Avengers-like lineup of Latinx superstars for “China” with J Balvin, Karol G, Ozuna, and Daddy Yankee holds down the No. 4 spot. Jhay Cortez’s remix of “No Me Conoce” with Balvin and Bad Bunny follows while Maluma’s peda anthem “HP” rounds out the list at No. 10.

Interestingly, K-Pop girl group BLACKPINK is at No. 7 on the list with “Kill This Love,” showing how music doesn’t need to be exclusively in English anymore to be consumed by the masses. Let’s keep that kind of energy going into 2020 and the new decade.
