There’s been a lot of rumors and hate surrounding Yahritza y Su Esencia lately. The latest? Media outlets are reporting that the sibling trio is stepping down from playing an upcoming música mexicana festival in Mexico City. However, the rumors are not true.
The festival in question is Festival Arre, which is set to happen on Sep. 9 to 10 in Mexico City. The trio is part of the música mexicana festival’s second date on Sep. 10, sharing the stage with talents like Peso Pluma, Edén Muñoz, and Luis R Conriquez. El Universal wrote that Yahritza y Su Esencia didn’t have the date up on their official website and insinuated that the band isn’t playing it anymore due to the amount of internet backlash they’re receiving.
However, the family trio is still set to play Festival Arre, per their publicist. When Remezcla reached out for a comment, the publicist said that the band will perform their set and that it was an “error” on the website. “The date was not included in the VIP packages update that was done to the tour because it is a festival but the website has been updated and ARRE is reflected on there,” they said through email. Now, Festival Arre is included as part of the group’s upcoming tour agenda via their official website.
Amidst the internet hate, the Mexican-American group is moving forward. They just released their newest collaboration, “Solo Que Lo Dudes,” with Banda MS. Banda MS said that the joint track is an innovative way to blend generations. “The truth is that it was a very good experience, I think this song managed to combine several things,” Banda MS’ vocalist Oswaldo Silvas told Remezcla at the time. “We represent two styles and two generations united in one song. BANDA MS always seeks to innovate and give versatility to their music, and I think that in ‘Solo Que Lo Dudes,’ there is a perfect synergy of mutual admiration.”
Yahritza y Su Esencia is also preparing to embark on their U.S. tour this week. The Obsessed Tour will start in Seattle, WA, tomorrow (Aug. 15). The tour will also make stops in Portland, San Diego, Santa Ana, Dallas, and more cities.
