Following her public breakup with Christian Nodal, Cazzu is finally back with new music. On Dec. 19, the Argentinean trap star released her first single of the year, “LA CUEVA,” featuring heartfelt post-breakup sentiments about a past relationship.
“LA CUEVA is now yours,” she announced online.
In the music video, Cazzu is seen wearing a white dress in a countryside field after a scene of her watching a house burn down. Sonically, the new ballad highlights Cazzu’s emotional vocals as opposed to her signature trap-heavy bars. In “LA CUEVA,” she seemingly talks about what she’s gone through in the past months after her breakup with Nodal. To recap, only a few weeks after their breakup in May, Nodal got together with his now-wife Ángela Aguilar. After their public wedding two months post-Cazzu’s breakup, social media users started to speculate about possible infidelity, which Nodal has claimed isn’t true.
One of the standout lyrics is when Cazzu sings: “Claro que lloré / Si yo te adoré [Of course I cried / Yes I adored you].” She seemingly refers to when she first stated that she’s the only one with the right to speak about her own feelings. This comment came after Aguilar told ABC NEWS LIVE her side of the story. In the interview (Oct. 17), Aguilar claimed that everyone involved was “on the same page” and that nobody’s heart got broken. During an interview with UZU TV’s PLP show in late October, the Argentinean singer pointed out that her relationship’s aftermath was actually a “very painful” process and that hearts were broken, contrary to Aguilar’s initial claim.

Another emotional part follows, as Cazzu sings: “Convertiste nuestra historia / En una maldita parodia [You turned our story / Into a f*cking parody].” She could be referencing the media’s coverage, such as the recent La Rosa de Guadalupe episode called “Fan De Su Relación,” which references an alleged comment from Aguilar on a picture of the then couple when they were still together.
Online, fans are talking about Nodal and their feelings towards Cazzu’s heartfelt ballad.
Whether or not this is what Cazzu is referring to, what’s true is that the Argentinean rapper is back in action. Earlier this month (Dec. 8), she made her highly-anticipated festival comeback at Argentina’s Buenos Aires Trap 2024.

Up next, the “Brinca” singer is confirmed to perform at Austin’s Bésame Mucho festival on Apr. 5.
