El movimiento is mourning a major loss. Today (July 19), Puerto Rican star Farruko revealed that his friend and close collaborator K Lo K No Me De Cotorra has died.
Néstor Alexander Santana, known by his artistic name K Lo K, started his music career in his native country of the Dominican Republic. After working as a DJ at a local radio station, he started his career as a producer at 17 years old. Throughout his career, K Lo K worked with artists from around the world, including American rappers Birdman, Juvenile, and CJ. He also collaborated with acts like Myke Towers, Lary Over, Milly, Nio García, Amenazzy, Jay Wheeler, and Kevvo.
K Lo K also worked frequently with Farruko. He was a part of the record label Carbon Fiber Music, which is home to the “Pepas” hit-maker. Farruko was the one who broke the news about Santana’s passing. He was 36 years old when he died yesterday. The cause of death is yet to be shared.
“Coño Gordo homeboy, I don’t even know what to say I am [heartbroken emoji] @nomedecotorra Carbon4life,” Farruko wrote in Spanish in an Instagram post. “Your work speaks for itself. Rest easy soldier friend brother family. May God have you in his arms.”
In the comments of Farruko’s Instagram post, many of K Lo K’s collaborators left heartfelt messages about his passing. Puerto Rican singer Kevvo wrote in Spanish, “My condolences to his family.” CJ commented with emojis of broken hearts, a dove, and praying hands.
Fellow music producer Foreign Teck also shared his condolences on one of Santana’s Instagram posts. “My brother for life,” he wrote. “Thank you for everything you’ve ever done for me and with me man. A mind that can never be replicated. We gonna carry you on!”
