Downtown Boys have just kicked off their performances at SXSW this year, and they’ve already managed to tear up the stage twice, delivering one of the highlights of SXSW Day 2. At AdHoc’s Unofficial Showcase this afternoon, the riotous punk quintet performed their cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark,” the final track on their 2015 album Full Communism.
The band are definitely Springsteen fans, as their namesake comes from the Boss’ “It’s Hard to Be a Saint in the City”: “And them downtown boys sure talk gritty/It’s so hard to be a saint in the city.”
Watch the cover below, and check them out at House of Vans tonight.
