Girl Ultra will hit the road in the U.S. this fall. Today (June 13), the Mexican alternative pop star announced the dates for her upcoming Blush Tour ’24.
Girl Ultra first made waves as a beacon of the Mexican R&B scene. Since then, she has shown that her talent isn’t limited to one genre. With her 2022 EP El Sur, Girl Ultra embraced the Y2K rock and music from the house parties of Mexico City’s southside. Earlier this week, she released her new single, “Blush,” where her soulful voice finds a home in ambient EDM. In the music video, Girl Ultra explores a different side of herself with more of the Y2K aesthetic.
“‘Blush’ is a song about makeup on my cheeks, making myself blush for a second encounter with somebody,” she shared in a statement. “For the video I really wanted to dive into my female gaze and portray a more sexual me in a suggestive way bringing up subtle but fantastic elements such as the anime-esque blushing cheeks.”
Girl Ultra will perform her hits on the Blush Tour ’24. For part of the tour, she will serve as the supporting act of Chromeo and The Midnight’s Chrome Nights Tour. In the second half of the tour, Girl Ultra will headline her own shows with Sanje and Shao as supporting acts. The tour kicks off on Sept. 27 at the Eastern in Atlanta, GA. Girl Ultra’s headlining shows will take place in October in major cities like Sacramento, CA; Los Angeles, CA; San Diego, CA; Phoenix, AZ; San Antonio, TX; and Dallas, TX. The tour will wrap on Nov. 1 in Austin, TX.
Pre-sale tickets for Girl Ultra’s headlining shows on the tour are now on sale. Tickets to the general public will be available tomorrow, June 14, at 10 a.m. local time. Girl Ultra’s Blush EP will be released on July 12.
