Here’s How ‘La Casa de los Famosos México’ Is Leading a Belanova Resurgence

Belanova and their music are experiencing an unexpected resurgence thanks to La Casa de los Famosos México. It’s all thanks to one of the cast members has been singing the Mexican pop group’s classics in the house.
The third season of La Casa de los Famosos México started airing on July 27. Since entering the house, Mexican fitness influencer Aldo de Nigris has put Belanova back on the radar. His uncle is Poncho de Nigris, who competed in the first season. Aldo also hosts a podcast called “Más Allá del Fierro,” where he has opened up about playing Belanova’s music during his workouts.
“Now they’re starting to ask me to put on the lomecan playlist,” he said during an episode. “I have a bit of everything, like heavy metal, electronica, Laura Pausini, and Belanova. I really like the gay songs, the girly songs.”
During the conversation, Aldo also sang Belanova’s “Rosa Pastel.” He co-opted Lomecan’s “Para las niñas bien” slogan to say the word also refers to “niños bien,” which is how he describes himself. It’s worth noting that “Rosa Pastel” first re-emerged in 2023 thanks to Peso Pluma and Jasiel Nuñez’s song of the same name.
But on the show, while exercising and hanging with his housemates, Aldo has also sung Belanova hits like “Rosa Pastel,” “Cada Que…,” “Baila Mi Corazón,” and “Me Preguntó.”
In addition to singing Belanova songs, Aldo has gone viral on TikTok for doing his pasito lomecan dance. On social media, Belanova frontwoman Denisse Guerrero has since shown her support for Aldo. In her most recent post on Instagram, she wrote, “Put on Belanova and dance #Lomecancitos.”
The Aldo effect on Belanova’s catalog has translated to streaming. “Rosa Pastel” and “Cada Que…” have entered the top 100 of Mexico’s Spotify chart with “Por Ti” close behind. Mexican rapper Millonario is also cashing in on the Aldo craze with his song “Lomecan.”
Aldo de Nigris is still competing on La Casa de los Famosos México. Ninel Conde recently became the latest celebrity evicted from the house.
