The male backup dancer Bad Bunny kissed at the MTV Video Music Awards last Sunday (Aug. 28) is opening up about the experience. His name is Nigel O’Brian and the moment still has him shook.

On Sunday, Bad Bunny made history as the first non-English language act to win Artist of the Year at the MTV VMAs. His live performance of “Tití Me Preguntó” from his sold-out concert in Yankee Stadium was streamed at the event. Benito made headlines the next day when he kissed a male backup dancer during the performance. The moment was likened to Madonna kissing Britney Spears at the 2003 MTV VMAs. He kissed a female backup dancer as well.

Now, the identity of the lucky male backup dancer that kissed Benito has been revealed. O’Brian was a backup dancer for Bad Bunny’s El Último Tour Del Mundo, and now he’s also a part of the World’s Hottest Tour. In an Instagram post, O’Brian shared his excitement about their performance of “Tití Me Preguntó” being broadcast during the MTV VMAs. The post also includes a video of O’Brian kissing Bad Bunny.

“Mami y Papi, look, another achievement,” O’Brian wrote. “VMAs 2022 and on tour with the #1 artist in the world. And best of all, making history with my colleagues alongside a mastermind. I still don’t know how to process that every sacrifice is having its reward and even more so, when it’s what I really want. We did it, cabrones, and let’s go for more. Juana Díaz to the whole world.”

O’Brian has also previously been a backup dancer for Rauw Alejandro. He can be seen dancing with Bad Bunny as his World’s Hottest Tour as it makes its way through stadiums across the U.S. Los Bukis recently made history becoming the most-attended Latine stadium tour in the U.S. It will be interesting to see if Bad Bunny comes close or surpasses them when the U.S. leg of his tour wraps in Oct.
