With summer around the corner, you know that plenty of music releases are coming in hot. That’s why it was to our pleasant surprise that Kali Uchis just announced that she has finished recording not only one – but two – new albums. Will she drop both this year?

“My third album & the next are both finished,” Kali Uchis announced on social media to her fanbase on April 21. “One is an English album, one is a Spanish album ¿what my kuchis want first?.”

The “Telepatía” singer has been busy since the release of her last album Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios), which earned her a Grammy nomination in the category of Best Música Urbana Album. Although she didn’t win (it went to Bad Bunny’s El Último Tour Del Mundo), her popular track “telepatía” cemented her as one of the Latine artists that received the most airplay in 2021. In fact, the bilingual R&B track was the second most consumed Latine song of 2021, according to the MRC Data’s US 2021 Year-End Report.

Recently, Uchis appeared on Amaarae’s “Sad Girlz Luv Money” remix music video, looking as glamorous as ever, decked in an all-diamond two-piece bathing suit. Is this the bad bitch energy she’s going to bring us with her upcoming album? We hope so.

Twitter users seem to be at a 50/50 so far – it appears that they just want new Uchis this year, regardless of the language she’ll be singing in. One Twitter user wrote: “Since we did get a taste of the Latino side from Sin Miedo we should get the English one first and then revolutionize it with another Latin Album later on.”

Other Twitter users are vouching for a Spanish-language album next.

Some Twitter users don’t care about the language. They just want new bops from the “Just a Stranger” artist.

What will Uchis end up deciding? Whatever language it is, we know it will be part of our summer playlist. And we are so ready for it.
