The First Lady of Reggaetón Ivy Queen has buried the beef with trapero Anuel AA. The Boricua rappers met for the first time at this year’s Premios Juventud awards and Ivy spilled the details on their encounter.

The beef between Ivy and Anuel stems from April of last year when the trapero disrespected Ivy’s legacy. In suggesting that his fiancée, Colombian superstar Karol G, was the “Queen of Reggaetón,” Anuel wrote in his IG story that La Caballota was no longer deserving of that title because she “hasn’t had a hit in more than seven years.”

When Ivy caught wind of Anuel’s post, she responded, writing, “I made a lot of sacrifices to build the foundation for a bridge that women walk on today. Always advocating for women’s unity and supporting new talent. I’m surprised by the disrespect.” The two rappers were able to meet in person at last month’s socially-distanced Premios Juventud.

In a new interview with El Guru, Ivy talked about meeting up with Anuel at the awards. “That day I met Anuel for the first time,” she said. “I was like, ‘Wow hermano, what a good guy you are, cabrón.’ We laughed a lot.” Ivy also got to hang out with Karol G that night.

In a recent Instagram post, Ivy posted a photo with Karol in the studio. It looks like that long-awaited collaboration might be happening soon. For now, Ivy is pushing her latest single “Next.”
