J Balvin has parted ways with longtime manager Rebeca León, who the 34-year-old reggaetonero has worked with since his early days breaking into the U.S. market, according to Billboard. “We started a dream to make it a reality and next to her we made my reality a dream today,” Balvin said.
As news of their split spread, news that Balvin signed with new manager, Scooter Braun’s SB Entertainment also made the rounds. Balvin now joins a roster with Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Demi Lovato, among others.
Balvin told Billboard via a statement: “It was meant to be, not before, not after, the time is now!!“And we are READY TO MAKE HISTORY. Life is perfect and I’m grateful with life for all the blessings and this makes part of my new beginning, because honestly we haven’t started yet; it’s time to show that we are more global than ever and that we can conquer the planet in Spanish, and make a new statement. Latino Gang, it’s global gang!! Let’s go patineta,” he added, referring to “scooter.”
