Jennifer Lopez is returning to music with a new album. On Friday (Nov. 25), the Latina pop icon revealed the details about her next LP, titled This Is Me … Now.
It’s been eight years since J. Lo dropped her last album A.K.A. In the years between, she participated in a number of Spanish-language collaborations like “Te Guste” with Bad Bunny, “Dinero” with Cardi B, and “Cambia El Paso” with Rauw Alejandro. Lopez also released the Marry Me movie soundtrack featuring Maluma.
Now Lopez is gearing up to release her next English-language album. This Is Me … Now will be a sequel to 2002’s This Is Me … Then, which was released 20 years ago. Lopez revealed the news on Instagram in a cool way. She recreated the album cover art for Then, which transformed into what will be the cover for her upcoming Now LP.
This Is Me … Then featured many of Lopez’s biggest hits. The album included classics like “Jenny From The Block” and “All I Have” featuring LL Cool J. Lopez’s Instagram reveal of This Is Me … Now also included the tracklist for the LP. A second part to the song “Dear Ben,” her ode to Ben Affleck, will be included on the album. After rekindling their romance last year, she married Affleck back in July.
Since the news of This Is Me … Now, many of J.Lo’s fans have taken to social media to express their joy for her impending comeback. On Twitter, one fan wrote, “New J.Lo album is coming soon This is Me…. Now. I can’t believe after 8 years it’s coming honestly i can’t wait for it. Love u and proud of u mama.” Another fan posted a fancam of Lopez and Affleck and wrote, “The cutest couple. Can’t wait for her new album. I’m sure J.Lo was so inspired by Ben. #JLOiscoming”
Lopez’s new album is due out sometime in 2023.
