Over the course of a year, Jessie Reyez has slowly garnered the attention of pop music heavyweights, thanks to her potent vocals and commitment to speaking out on sexism in the music industry. Though she’s only released one EP, the Colombian-Canadian artist has already nabbed songwriting credits for Dua Lipa and Calvin Harris, earned a feature on Romeo Santos’ most recent solo album, and shared her own #MeToo story.

Reyez’s talent for crafting raw and vulnerable music resonates, and she’s bound to keep exploring that style in her new material. On Tuesday, she took to Instagram to tease the new music she’s been working on. Fans will be happy to learn that the upcoming single is her first in Spanish. In the bilingual clip, she says, “In a few days, my first Spanish song comes out. I hope you like it and since you say I don’t speak enough Spanish, here it is carajo!” In her Instagram story, she added that the song is slated for release on Friday, August 10. Though there’s no news on the title or sound of the single yet, keep your eyes peeled for more information soon.
