To the surprise and possible dismay of Bronx residents, iconic diva Jennifer Lopez and her Yankee legend fiancé Alex Rodriguez have apparently been in the process of raising capital in a bid to buy the New York Mets, according to Variety. The publication reports that the JLo and the retired Yankee have enlisted JPMorgan Chase to raise funds to bid on the team.
Although it’s not uncommon for retired sports stars to own portions of professional teams, we do wonder how people in the BX would feel about two of their most legendary residents investing in the Queens-based rival.
