It’s officially Bichota season! On July 13, Karol G released her newest song and music video, “S91.” The music video also revealed that a Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season) is coming soon.
The new visuals, directed by Pedro Artola, start with La Bichota in a desert landscape. Karol is seen being chased by people, who appear to double down as animated wolves. An animated black panther seems to protect her from the wolf pack. In another frame, she’s seen racing a fast car; in another, she’s on top of the same vehicle laying down a hard-hitting trap hook.
Lyrically, the reggaeton, pop, and trap-influenced song talks about being unmatched, about having an incomparable flow, and how it’s not up for sale. Toward the end of the video, she’s seen in a church reciting Psalm 91. Later, she’s seen dancing in front of the Paris Eiffel Tower and closes the video lying next to the animated black panther.
Before releasing the video, the Colombian superstar posted a TikTok video of her mom’s crying reaction to the new release. In the video’s caption, Karol revealed why her mom’s sentimental response and the song’s overall message meant a lot to her. She mentioned that there’s no better feeling for her than her family being proud of her and for them to be moved by her music; that her mom cried because she’s the one who taught her how to pray Psalm 91 after leaving the house every morning for protection; and that she’s grateful to God for giving her a family that supports her, believes in her, and continues to celebrate her accomplishments with her.
“S91 has a message of celebration, of pride, of love, of overcoming, of invitation… so many beautiful feelings… I just want you to see it now,” she said.
Besides the new track and visuals, Karol is also preparing herself to headline Lollapalooza (Aug. 3) and embark on her upcoming stadium tour. Her highly-anticipated Mañana Será Bonito Tour will kick off at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV, on Aug. 11.
