Shakira is back with new music. After releasing her hit album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran last year, the Colombian icon is back with a new bilingual single “Zoo” for the upcoming animated film ZOOTOPIA 2. “Zoo” is a collaboration with Ed Sheeran, Blake Slatkin, and Alex (A.C.) Castillo.

“I’m so ready for Zootopia 2!! And guess what? Gazelle is back!” Shak wrote online in July. “So grateful to have worked with Ed Sheeran, @teddysphotos on the creation of this exciting new original song! Can’t wait for the premiere!”

The new rhythmic single is primarily in English, with a Spanish touch towards the end. With Spanish lyrics like, “Es una fiesta que sube como la espuma / Yo por ti iré hasta la luna de ida y vuelta,” the Colombian singer reminds listeners that she’s one of the biggest Latine stars of our generation, adding her native language to the mix. Sonically, the song’s an earworm, with a catchy and repetitive “a zoo, ooh-ooh” line that will stick to your brain. It also reminds us of Shak’s hit “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” with a similar percussion and intro. The song’s overall uplifting message is about embracing love, celebrating diversity, and having a good time, backed by feel-good electronic guitar chords and Latin percussion.

This isn’t the first time Shakira has done music for the ZOOTOPIA universe. In 2016, she released “Try Everything” as part of the soundtrack to the first movie. Shakira also stars in the movie as the voice of “Gazelle,” who is described as a famous pop star and mammal rights activist.

Besides this new song, Shakira has been busy promoting her new hair care line, Isima. She is also celebrating 30 years of her classic album Pies Descalzos.

ZOOTOPIA 2 will be released in theatres on Nov. 26.
