Listen up, Bukimanía: Los Bukis reached another milestone. On June 24, the iconic Mexican group was announced as part of the 2025 Hollywood Walk of Fame class.

“The Walk of Fame has made history again! As Chairman of the Walk of Fame Selection Committee, I am thrilled to announce the distinguished honorees who will grace the iconic Walk of Fame in the Class of 2025,” the organization’s chairman Peter Roth said in a press statement. “Each honoree truly embodies the essence of excellence in their respective fields. The committee and I cannot wait to see our honorees becoming part of this world-famous walkway!”

Known for their distinctive synth-pop romantic songs and hits like “Chiquilla Bonita,” “Acepto Mi Derrota,” and “Como Fui A Enamorarme De Ti,” the iconic band is now getting its own Hollywood Star to commemorate further the songs that have transcended generations. Los Bukis now have two years to schedule star ceremonies from the date of selection.

“Receiving this recognition is a dream come true. We are deeply grateful to our fans and to everyone who has supported our music throughout our career. This star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is not just for us, but for all our fans who have brought us here,” Marco Antonio Solís said in a statement.

This marks another achievement for the band, which is currently making history as the first Spanish-language band to earn a Las Vegas Residency. At the time of the residency’s announcement, Solís told Remezcla: “It fills us with joy, with enthusiasm, to be able to do this for our audience. It represents a lot of pride as Mexicans and also for our [genre] of romantic music, of nostalgic music, focused on our faithful audience: La Bukimanía.”

Back in 2010, Los Bukis’ frontman Solís received his own Hollywood Walk of Fame star as a soloist. Now, he will have another one with his band. Moreover, non-Latine artists who are also part of the 2025 class include Prince, Jane Fonda, Depeche Mode, and Colin Farrell. Bill Nye, Green Day, and The B-52s are also part of the new honorees.

Last year, Jenni Rivera was announced as part of that year’s class. Rivera will receive her star on the Walk of Fame this week (June 27). Rivera’s children, including Jacqie, Johnny, Chiquis, Jenicka, and Michael, are scheduled to attend the ceremony and accept the Walk of Fame star on their mother’s behalf. Other Latines part of the 2024 class include Marc Anthony and Sheila E.
