Like tons of other hinchas, Colombian reggaeton singer Maluma has been happily parading across Russia as the World Cup kicks into high gear. But as la selección colombiana prepared to battle against Japan in their first game of the tournament on Tuesday, Maluma became the victim of a robbery in his hotel room in Moscow.

The Associated Press reports that on Tuesday, a burglar entered Maluma’s Moscow hotel room by posing as a guest of the pop star, stealing designer watches, jewelry, and other personal items. At the time, Maluma was in transit to the city of Saransk, where the Colombia-Japan match took place. According to local authorities, the value of the stolen items was 50 million rubles, or $800,000 USD.

The Colombian superstar has yet to comment on the incident publicly, but Remezcla will update this post as more information becomes available.
