New York is getting its first corridos music festival. On Aug. 26, it was announced that the East Coast will host its inaugural Migo Festival at the Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY, on Oct. 11. Netón Vega, Chino Pacas, and Alemán will headline the festival’s first edition.

The one-day festival will feature headliners like Mexican singer-songwriter Netón Vega, música mexicana star Chino Pacas, and Mexican rapper Alemán. It will also feature performances by sierreño artist DannyLux, música mexicana singer-songwriter Jasiel Nuñez, and cumbia chanteuse Estevie. Alternative indie artist Bratty, música mexicana rising star Delilah, Mexican-American singer-songwriter Kane Rodriguez, and Mexican-American group Los Aptos are also part of the stellar lineup. Darriell Cano, Erre, and MXKA will also perform.

The Migo Festival is organized by NY-based inclusive community space and organization Migo Events, with the support of VPS Music and secondary partners, Viva Toro and StaffingRus. Moreover, the festival will donate a percentage of ticket sales to the organizer’s Migo Fund, a nonprofit organization created to support emerging Latine immigrant artists. The Migo Fund provides “essential resources such as financial assistance and art supplies, helping artists launch their careers or elevate their creative talents to the next level.”

“Migo Fest was created based on the PueblaYork community that is going through pressing times, yet we are more united than ever. We deserve to celebrate our culture and have fun,” the co-founder of Migo Festival, Paulina Montiel, said in a press statement. “I’m excited to be bringing the first Corridos Music Festival to the iconic Jones Beach Theater, especially since it will be most of these artists’ first time performing in New York City. We will be chartering buses from 3 major train stations to Jones Beach. I can’t wait for the PueblaYork community to show the world that we are here and proud.”

Tickets currently range from $75 to $145. For more festival and ticket information, check out the festival’s official website.
