Kobi Cantillo is going full-on lover boy. On Mar. 27, the Venezuelan pop artist revealed his latest R&B earworm “Demasiado Wow,” premiering exclusively on Remezcla.
Cantillo is known in the Latine pop scene thanks to his 2018 hits like “Perfecta” with Lenny Tavárez, “Sigue Creyendo,” and “Oye Oye,” which helped him garner over 85 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify. Although the singer has been out of the spotlight for a couple of years, he’s ready to make his highly anticipated comeback on his own terms — cue in: “Demasiado Wow,” the first taste of his upcoming musical chapter.
“Demasiado Wow” was inspired by Cantillo’s rebellious night out in town after having writer’s block. “I decided to go out at night to clear my head, and I went to a club with my friends without telling my girlfriend… I snuck out,” he tells Remezcla. “But by the time we got there, I honestly didn’t see a single woman more beautiful than her.”
He continued: “Right there, I came up with the idea for ‘Demasiado Wow,’ because it reflected that day exactly: I was at the club, but all I could talk about was how beautiful my girlfriend was compared to the women who were there. None of them caught my attention.”

Driven by this serendipitous amorous inspiration, the singer went straight to work with Venezuelan producer José Andrés Benítez, aka JAB, who helped his compatriot weave together an R&B-inspired track. “I was always a big fan of the genre and listened to artists like Mario, Chris Brown, Usher, Ne-Yo, among others,” he says about the song’s composition over email. “On top of that, I added my Latin essence, and the truth is that Jab added his touch to it, elevating the track and helping me in making it possible.” He also cites his long-time friend and collaborator Raul Ponce as part of the creative process.
Lyrically, the singer’s pop vocals swoon about someone who has him head over heels. With a catchy melody that came to him “very naturally,” Cantillo reassures his lover that there’s nobody else in his mind, even calling her “only muse.” With hints of guitar strings and piano chords fused with upbeat tinges of R&B and pop, the track is driven by a deep bass that makes “Demasiado Wow” a great candidate for summer gatherings.
Moreover, the new music video follows Cantillo’s rebellious spirit by turning a gasoline station into a raging party captured by the security cameras. The footage features playful clips of Cantillo and his crew dancing with red cups, breakdancing, and inflatable sumo wrestling, turning the romantic earworm into a party anthem — random mariachi and horse included. The rebellious part of all? Everything is going on while the store worker is fast asleep.

The new track also marks a new era for the lover boy. After not releasing music for two years due to situations that “were out of [his] hands,” the Venezuelan star promises to indulge his fans with new sounds he’s confident about. He describes this comeback as an “evolution” both “musically and personally.”
“I will give [my fans] everything I have to give. It will be a journey through my feelings and experiences with the intention of connecting with them and accompanying them in their lives,” he said about his upcoming music. “If I can be of support, motivation, company or simply brighten up a moment in their day, I will have fulfilled my purpose. I just want to be the soundtrack of their movie.”
