Rauw Alejandro finally dropped his highly-anticipated third album Saturno. The LP, a new wave and experimental reggaeton soundscape infused with funk, pop, and techno inspirations, premiered today (Nov. 11) – and it was worth the wait.

“I wanted to take my fans on a ride through my mind, my emotions–the sounds that influenced me,” the Puerto Rican artist said in a written press statement. “This album tells a story from beginning to end.”

To make this front-to-end continuation happen, Rauw added tracks like the futuristic groove of “SATURNO,” “DECA’ A LA VEGAS (INTERLUDE),” and “RAULEETO (Skit),” which keep you synced into the album. Each track immerses you into the personal, ‘90s retro, cyberpunk world he’s created throughout the album.

Rauw continued: “For me this album is a collection of the sounds that shaped me. From early hip-hop, to freestyle, and of course reggaeton, these are the elements that make me who I am.”

Following the hit reggaeton-centric released singles “LOKERA” with Lyanno and Brray and the explosive remake of “PUNTO 40” with Baby Rasta, Rauw dropped his full album composed of 18 genre-bending tracks that he helped co-produce. Other featured artists include DJ Playero on the hypnotic reggaeton track “DEJAU,’” Chris Palace on “GATAS,” Arcángel on the synth-heavy “CAZADORES,” and Subelo NEO on “RON COLA.”

Other noteworthy tracks are the DJ Playero-produced “DE CAROLINA,” which takes us back to ‘90s reggaeton and hip-hop, the techno club-ready “VERDE MENTA,” and the eclectic and fast-paced “CORAZÓN DESPEINADO.”

Rauw’s known to experiment and cross all music genres. From his massive mainstream pop hit “Todo De Ti” to his more cutting-edge and trap-heavy Trap Cake alter-ego, what’s true is that the singer constantly switches up his musical spectrum – and keeps his fans on their toes while at it.

What’s next for the star? Not only is he one of the most-nominated artists at next week’s Latin Grammy awards, but he’s also set to perform – and we’re more than ready to join in his Saturno.

Along with the album release, Rauw also dropped his newest music video for “LEJOS DEL CIELO,” one of his more emotional songs from the album.
