The trend of remaking reggaeton classics in 2020 continues. On his new album Afrodisíaco, released on Friday (Nov. 13), Rauw Alejandro tackles Randy’s hit “Soy Una Gárgola.” The rising Puerto Rican artist joins forces with Randy himself and Arcángel.

“Soy Una Gárgola” was first released by Randy, who is one-half of duo Jowell y Randy, on the 2006 album Gárgolas 5: The Next Generation. Originally, Arcángel served as Randy’s hype man on the song. Now, both OGs team up with Rauw Alejandro on the remake for Afrodisíaco.

Rauw Alejandro puts his R&B touch on “Soy Una Gárgola,” that’s still very much perreo-ready for 2020. He adds a new verse about making women around the world move to the song. Arcángel calls himself a “Gárgola original” in his slick guest verse. Randy brings that wild “Safaera” energy to this electronic update of the reggaeton classic.

Rauw Alejandro’s new version of “Soy Una Gárgola” follows previous remakes like Arcángel’s “Aparentemente 2” and Yandel’s “Por Mi Reggae Muero 2020.” Rauw featured on Yandel’s other remake, “Dembow 2020.”

Afrodisíaco also features collaborations with other heavy-hitters like J Balvin, Sech, Wisin y Yandel, and Anuel AA.  Rosalía has uncredited vocals on the song “Dile a Él.” Rauw will find out if wins Best New Artist at the Latin Grammy Awards on Thursday night (Nov. 19).
