Shakira, Celia Cruz & Other Special Vinyls You Can Buy for Record Store Day 2025

Shakira has a special surprise in store for her fans for Record Store Day 2025. Other Latine artists dropping limited edition vinyl that day include Omar Apollo, Celia Cruz, Willie Colón, and Astrud Gilberto.
Record Store Day was created to boost business for independent record shops. On that day, music lovers are encouraged to go to their local stores and seek out the special releases. This year’s RSD will take place on April 12, 2025.
For the first time, Shakira will release one of her live albums on vinyl. Live in Paris from 2011 will be pressed on pink vinyl. The Colombian superstar’s concert from Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy includes performances of her hits “Whenever, Wherever,” “Inevitable,” “La Tortura,” “Sale El Sol,” “She Wolf,” and more. According to the RSD website, about 2,100 copies of the vinyl will be released, so Shakira’s fans better move fast that day.
Omar Apollo will also put out a special drop for Record Store Day. The Mexican-American pop star’s song “Te Maldigo” with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will be released as a 7” single on cobalt vinyl. Back in November, Apollo released the emotional track across all music streaming platforms for the movie Queer. He made his acting debut last year in that film, which stars Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey. Celia Cruz’s estate is continuing to celebrate the late Cuban icon’s centennial anniversary. Her LP Only They Could Have Made This Album with Willie Colón will be re-released on vinyl for RSD.
Another Latine gem that will drop on Record Store Day is the 1977 album That Girl from Ipanema by Brazilian singer Astrud Gilberto. The LP includes the timeless bossa nova title track, which earned her a Best New Artist nomination at the 1965 Grammy Awards. Ahead of RSD, Peso Pluma released his breakthrough album Génesis on vinyl for the first time last month.
