Shakira is still flying high from her Bizarrap collaboration, “BZRP Music Sessions #53,” which climbed the streaming charts and broke career records. Now, she’s seemingly moving on to her next musical release: a single off her upcoming album. Over the weekend, Shazam reportedly leaked the cover art of “Copa Vacía” by accident, which Shakira’s fans were quick to realize and screenshot. Shakira is seen as a mermaid with pink hair tied up in ropes in the supposed cover art.

If this is the cover of Shakira’s next single, the song will be “Copa Vacía.” She will be teaming up with one of Colombia’s rising stars, Manuel Turizo, who hails from Montería. In 2022, Turizo had a breakthrough year when his song “La Bachata” climbed to No. 6 on Billboard’s Global 200 chart. Turizo also reached No. 67 on the all-genre Hot 100 chart.

A preview of “Copa Vacía” has also surfaced online. From the lyrics released so far, the song appears to be a departure from her previous singles about betrayal and heartbreak that many felt stemmed from her split from Gerard Piqué. In the reggaeton-pop track, Shakira sings about being parched for love. “I’ve been thirsty for you for a while / I don’t know why / I’m left wanting more and wanting to drink from an empty glass,” she sings in Spanish.

Shakira’s next album is expected to feature her previous hits “Te Felicito” with Rauw Alejandro and “Monotonía” with Ozuna. “BZRP Music Sessions #53” most likely won’t be featured on her LP since that’s one of Bizarrap’s songs. Shakira hasn’t responded to the “Copa Vacía” leak yet.

The mermaid cover art for “Copa Vacía” is also adding to the speculation that Shakira has a collaboration with Karol G on the way. Karol G’s cover art for her Mañana Será Bonito album includes a drawing of a red-headed mermaid that could be modeled after the “Provenza” singer.
