This just in: being single esta de moda – and Shakira is enjoying every single minute of it! On Sept. 25, the Colombian superstar released her newest single, “Soltera.” The result? A new single baddie anthem to listen to with your best friends ASAP.

The new single, co-written by Shakira, Edgar Barrera, and Keityn, features a pop reggaeton melody intertwined with an electronic guitar touch with lyrics that embrace having a good time being single. With lyrics like: “Yo tengo derecho de portarme mal / Pa’ pasarla bien / Estoy suelta y, ahora puedo hacer lo que quiera / Se pasa rico soltera [I have the right to behave badly / To have a good time / I’m on the loose and now I can do whatever I want / It’s a good time being single],” the Colombian singer switches her mood up from past breakup collaborations to finally enjoying her single era. However, she references Alejandro Sanz by singing: “Esta nena tiene fans / Y el corazón partido como Sanz [This nena has fans / And a broken heart like Sanz],” letting it known that she hasn’t completely healed from her last relationship.

Although there’s no word on the music video release, Shak was spotted recording a video for the new track with Danna, Anitta, Lele Pons, and Winnie Harlow dancing at the LIV Nightclub in Miami, FL, earlier this month. The pop star also published a video on a yacht with Natti Natasha, Shannon Hamilton, Pons, and Harlow, signaling a boat scene with her girls.

Shakira is ending 2024 with a bang. Not only is she kicking off her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, CA, on Nov. 2, but she’s also up for three Latin Grammys that same month. The “TQG” singer is nominated for Album of the Year for Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, Song of the Year for “(Entre Paréntesis)” alongside Grupo Frontera, and Best Latin Electronic Music Performance thanks to the Tiësto remix of “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53.”
