The two living members of Soda Stereo are going on tour with a virtual Gustavo Cerati this year. On May 4, the iconic Argentine band announced the U.S. leg of their innovative live experience “ECOS Tour.” The highly anticipated tour will kick off at the SAP Center in San Jose, CA, on Sept. 10, and wrap up at the Kaseya Center in Miami, FL, on Sept. 20.
Unlike their previous Cirque du Soleil-inspired Sép7imo Día Tour and the “Gracias Totales Tour”—which showcased guest vocalists performing Cerati’s vocals—this tour will feature the late icon on stage as a hologram alongside his in-person band members. The innovative tour is described as an anticipated reunion made possible by technology rather than a tribute or homage. The concert also provides fans with 3-D glasses to enhance the immersive experience.
This month, “ECOS Tour” is hitting Latin America before coming stateside. After kicking off their U.S. leg in San Jose, Soda Stereo will take their technology-driven concert featuring the late icon Cerati to The Kia Forum in Los Angeles, CA, on Sept. 12. Then, the project will head to Dolby Live in Las Vegas, NV (Sept. 13); the UBS Arena in Belmont Park, NY (Sept. 17); and wrap up at the Kaseya Center in Miami, FL (Sept. 20). After the U.S. trek, the concert will make its way to Madrid, Spain (Sept. 25).
Presale tickets for the “ECOS Tour” will go on sale to Citi cardmembers from May 5 at 10 a.m. to May 6 at 10 p.m. local time. There will also be a Verizon presale from May 5 at 10 a.m. to May 6 at 10 p.m. local time. General tickets will go on sale on May 7 at 10 a.m. local time via Live Nation’s official website.
