Today (Dec. 1), YouTube revealed its top songs of the year – and it was headed by a Latine track. But no, it wasn’t Bad Bunny or Karol G. It’s actually another Latine giant of the year: Encanto’s soundtrack. Not only did Latines hold the top 10’s No. 1 spot, but more than half of the tracks named were by Latine artists.

The top stop on YouTube’s 2022 Top Songs in the U.S. went to the top-charting “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” by the Encanto cast. It makes sense since it was one of this year’s most popular tunes. In fact, it even garnered many accolades, such as platinum certification by the RIAA, and now holds the spot as the No. 1 longest-running Disney song in Billboard Hot 100 history since 1993.

That wasn’t the only Encanto-related track on the top 10. Jessica Darrow’s “Surface Pressure” – also part of the Encanto soundtrack – charted at No. 3 on the Top Songs in the U.S. It currently has over 292 million views on YouTube, and it still holds a spot (No. 89) on YouTube’s Top 100 Music Videos of US.

The list also named two of Bad Bunny’s massive hits. “Tití Me Preguntó” sits at No. 4 while his collaboration with Chencho Corleone “Me Porto Bonito” came in at No. 6. This comes to no surprise since Benito’s latest album has topped many EOTY rankings, including No. 2 on Rolling Stone’s “The 100 Best Albums of 2022” and No. 1 on TIME Magazine’s “The 10 Best Albums of 2022.”

Karol G is also part of the list. Her track “MAMIII” with Becky G made No. 7 on the list. Her solo track “PROVENZA” also made the top 10 at No. 9. Karol’s popularity consequently made her this year’s highest-grossing U.S. tour led by a female Latine act in history.

Other artists featured on this year’s top 10 include Kodak Black’s “Super Gremlin” at No. 2, Future’s “Wait for U” alongside Drake and Tems at No. 5, Imagine Dragons and JID’s “Enemy” at No. 8, and Lil Baby’s “In A Minute” at No. 10.
