While we’re all currently staying safe during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we’re surely down to catching the love bug during this Valentine’s Day, and we want what Gabriel Garzón-Montano and ANDREKZA have. The couple, who have worked together on ANDREKZA’s upcoming debut project CASSETTE and on Garzón-Montano’s “Muñeca” music video, have nothing but love to share on their social media outlets, so we asked them to dedicate ten songs to each other, which you can now listen on this exclusive romantic playlist.

On one hand, the “Agüita” singer goes from the romance of The Beatles’ “I Will” to El Conejo Malo’s “Safaera” and its nasty business; from Panchito Riset’s lovely bolero “El Cuartito” to Slum Village’s bouncy “2U4U.” On the other hand, ANDREKZA replies with some Venezuelan hip-hop (Micro TDH, Apache) and old-school Parliament-Funkadelic jams, among other passionate love songs.

“Sharing my emotions and my art with someone at this moment we’re all [currently] experiencing is weird, but it’s also super cool,” says ANDREKZA over email. “Having the chance to express myself and having someone who can understand me and connect with my in my best and worst pleasures is something very special; especially during this stage in my life, when I’m launching my first musical project and during a pandemic, it’s something incredible —I think [it is] for both of us.”

ANDREKZA is dropping the “lado A” of her CASSETTE project on February 19. Garzón-Montano just released an Armando Young remix of his Agüita track “Someone,” featuring Jamila Woods.
