Monterrey hip-hop veterans Cartel de Santa have just released a brand new video for their song “Doctor Marihuana.” The clip was directed by Babo himself (né Eduardo Dávalos), the band’s main MC, and it features the band rapping, smoking pot, and hanging out with pretty girls in their house studio. So in other words: living the good life.
The lyrics ponder the benefits of smoking good old weed instead of going nuts for Rivotril, or other drugs produced by the pharmaceutical industry. The song is also a kind of prophetic anthem, celebrating the end of the war on drugs and the return of la pachanga.
Cartel de Santa has been mixing rap, hip-hop, and rock since the ’90s, gaining international acclaim with songs like “La Pelotona” and “Perros”-–which was included in the soundtrack for Amores Perros. Enjoy responsibly!
