The band’s last performance took place in 2018.

After a four-year-long hiatus, Belanova has officially returned! On Saturday night (March 2), the Mexican electro-pop group made their comeback at the 2024 Besame Mucho Festival.

Belanova conquered the 2000s with hits like “Rosa Pastel,” “Por Ti,” “Cada Que…” and “Baila Mi Corazón.” After the conclusion of their joint tour with Mœnia in early 2018, they stepped away from the music scene. The hiatus appeared to be definite until Belanova’s lead singer, Denisse Guerrero, reactivated her Instagram in Aug. 2023. This was most likely spurred by the resurgence in popularity of Belanova’s classics on TikTok. After Peso Pluma released a song called “Rosa Pastel,” there was especially reinvigorated interest in Belanova’s hit that shared the same name.

Belanova returned to the stage for the first time in four years at the Besame Mucho Festival in Austin, TX. Denisse Guerrero reunited with keyboard player Edgar Huerta and guitarist Ricardo “Richie” Arreola. For the trio’s comeback performance, Guerrero donned a chic black dress. During their set, the crowd sang along with Belanova as they performed their songs like “Niño,” “Me Pregunto,” and “Rosa Pastel.” After the performance, the trio hung out backstage with another beloved Mexican pop group from the 2000s, Reik.

This month, Belanova will continue to work the music festival circuit with performances at Vive Latino in Mexico City and Tecate Pal Norte in Monterrey, MX. On April 24, the band will officially kick off the Vida En Rosa Tour of the U.S. at the San Jose Civic Center in San Jose, CA. Throughout April, May, and June, Belanova will perform in concerts across the country. The tour will wrap on June 23 in Houston, TX. The trio’s last album, Viaje Al Centro Del Corazón, was released in 2018—no word yet if Belanova’s comeback will include new music.
