WATCH: Christian Nodal Blends Mariachi with Bachata in ‘La Bachatita’

Following the video release of “La Corazonada,” Christian Nodal is back with “La Bachatita.” On Oct. 23, the Mexican singer-songwriter released his newest music video for “La Bachatita,” an emotional song that intertwines traditional elements of mariachi and bachata. The song is part of Nodal’s recent PA’L CORA EP. 01, released in August.
The new music video, directed by Carlos Perez (Elastic People), was filmed in Miami, FL. It takes the viewer on an emotional journey about a mother’s realities. On one side, we see the mother comforting and caring for her children. We also see her dancing bachata with her presumably new partner, feeling happy with him. On the other hand, we see another side of the mother’s struggling life, including having to deal with her children’s alcoholic father and the stresses that come with it.
Moreover, with lyrics like, “Tú te mereces otro amor / Que cada que te bese te erice la piel / No andar llorándole a un cabrón / Que en el fondo sabe, eres mucho pa’ él [You deserve another love / That every time he kisses you it makes your skin tingle / Don’t go crying for a cabrón / That deep down he knows, you’re too much for him],” Nodal complements the storyline by singing verses that give us an insight to the mother’s new partner’s POV.
Fans are praising his new song’s innovative musical direction. A YouTube user, @geopl9588, wrote: “Pure versatility, this man. He can compose and sing any genre. Congratulations.” Another YouTube user, @carlosalvarez-gz6id, echoed the same sentiment: “First the cumbiacheño and now the bachareño, congratulations Nodal.”
