Daddy Yankee is putting his own spin on the hit song “Yandel 150.” The Puerto Rican icon joined Yandel and Feid for the “Yankee 150” music video, released last night (June 15).
Back in December, Yandel teamed up with Feid for their collaboration “Yandel 150.” The song from Yandel’s Resistencia album has become one of their biggest hits. It peaked at No. 6 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart and No. 71 on the all-genre Hot 100 chart. It has also amassed over 517 million streams on Spotify. Now, Yandel and Feid are remixing the song with the reggaeton pioneer himself.
“I feel like this is going to be special for all the people who have followed Ferxxo for many years,” Feid wrote in Spanish on Instagram. “Thank you Yandel and Daddy Yankee for this major opportunity to shine with you guys.”
The song follows a similar sound to Yandel and Feid’s “Yandel 150,” but now Daddy Yankee drops a few explosive guest verses at the beginning. He turns up the heat of the sultry reggaeton banger. Yandel and Feid also shot a new music video for the song where Daddy Yankee joins them. “Yankee 150” is “Yandel 150” taken to the next level.
Daddy Yankee’s fans are excited to see him hop on one of the biggest songs of the year. “[The song] gave me the serotonin I needed,” wrote one person on Twitter. “I can’t stop watching the Yankee 150 video,” wrote another person.
Yandel’s Resistencia was certified gold in the U.S. He released the album in Jan. Baby Rasta y Gringo and Yandel’s “Los Vaqueros” collaborators Wisin and Franco “El Gorila” featured on the LP. Yandel also shared his spotlight with rising Puerto Rican star Young Miko and Catalyna.
