On June 3, the recently independent De La Ghetto teamed up with Rauw Alejandro to drop “Loco Por Perrearte (REMIX),” along with a hot new music video. Following their last successful collaboration back in Aug. 2020, “Suave Rico,” it comes as no surprise that the new song is just as hot.

The original R&B track is about a night of dancing and a summer romance brewing. Rauw’s new verse adds to the sensual vibes of the song, talking about his desire to spend the night dancing with one specific person. The music video was directed by Argentinian filmmaker Martín Seipel, who has worked with artists like Ruggero, MYA, and Khea. The video, produced by Miami-based film company Motion Haze, takes place in an extravagant mansion where the artists and their dancers are dressed just as fabulously.

In a press statement, De La Ghetto said he recently joined Rauw on tour and had a great experience performing with him. “Since the very beginning, Rauw and I have had a wonderful professional and personal relationship,” he said. “I am super thrilled to have him on the remix, we had a fun time recording it and creating the video, and I think that our fans are going to love it.”

Rauw said in the same press statement that he grew up listening to De La Ghetto, who he considers a great influence in his musical career. “When I heard ‘Loco Por Perrearte’ I was backstage, changing my clothes in the middle of the show… I went out on stage and told Geezy, ‘I have to be on that remix.’ This song has that legendary feeling,” he said.

Needless to say, fans are hyped for the new collaboration.

The two-time Latin Grammy-nominated musician is enjoying his newfound freedom as an independent artist. De la Ghetto left his record label Warner Music Latina earlier in the year and has since been enjoying taking full control of his sound and image. “Sometimes big companies don’t see you the same. And now I try to tell young artists – to tell everybody — that being independent is the way to go,” the artist told Remezcla
