Eslabon Armado made a surprise appearance at EDC. The band was a special guest of the Mexican-American DJ Deorro, who spun his remix of their hit “Ella Baila Sola.”

The EDC music festival took place in Las Vegas, NV, from May 19 to 21. Deorro is known for blending Mexican and Latine music into his sets. On Sunday night, he proudly represented his Mexican roots in his mix. In between EDM tracks, he seamlessly mixed in songs like Grupo Frontera and Bad Bunny’s “un X100to,” his collaboration “Yo Las Pongo” with Los Tucanes De Tijuana, and “So Fly” by NB Ridaz.

Deorro also premiered his remix of Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma’s global hit “Ella Baila Sola.” The Mexican-American band joined him onstage during the surprise moment. Eslabon Armado’s lead singer Pedro Tovar sang along to the fiery remix. Deorro masterfully turned the corrido tumbado smash into a club anthem that had the massive crowd moving.

“I can’t believe this actually happened,” Deorro wrote on Twitter with a crying face emoji. “Thank you EDC Las Vegas y gracias a los compas Eslabon Armado for coming through to perform my new remix of theirs and Peso Pluma’s ‘Ella Baila Sola’ with me. que momento inolvidable.”

After Deorro’s set at EDC, many people expressed excitement about seeing him bring out Eslabon Armado. “Damn EDC Sunday was the best hands down! Deorro did not disappoint. Eslabon Armado was litty,” wrote one person on Twitter. “such a beautiful set Deorro y Eslabón Armado!!! Proud Mexicans!!” another person wrote with crying emojis.

This year, Eslabon Armado has continued to make history for regional Mexican music. “Ella Baila Sola” with Peso Pluma became the first song in the genre to reach the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Earlier this month, Eslabon Armado also claimed the highest-charting regional Mexican album on the Billboard 200 chart with their Desvelado LP.
