Jenna Ortega is the star of Sabrina Carpenter’s new music video. Carpenter tapped the actress of Mexican and Puerto Rican descent for her bloody “Taste” music video, released this morning (Aug. 23), and the Death Becomes Her vibes are immaculate.

Ortega and Carpenter both got their start in the entertainment industry on the Disney Channel. In 2016, Ortega starred in the series Stuck in the Middle, while Carpenter had a breakout role in Girl Meets World. Since then, Ortega has blossomed into a Hollywood A-lister, and Carpenter has become a pop It Girl. Now, Carpenter is joining forces with Ortega for her killer “Taste” music video, which is the third single off her Short N’ Sweet album.

In the music video, Carpenter and Ortega fight to the death. Like the premise of the 1992 movie Death Becomes Her, both women battle it out by finding interesting ways to murder each other. After getting a knife to the eye from Carpenter, Ortega puts on an eye patch and nurse’s outfit that are reminiscent of the character Elle Driver from Kill Bill: Vol. 2. Ortega later gives Carpenter a chainsaw to the gut following their surprise makeout session. Despite all the gory scenarios, Carpenter and Ortega appear to enjoy going after each other.

Ortega and Carpenter’s fans loved seeing them come together in the “Taste” music video. On X, one person wrote, “sabrina carpenter had jenna ortega in her music video and immediately knew what she needed was blood and girl kissing.” Another person added, “jenna ortega and sabrina carpenter making out wasn’t on my 2024 bingo card but i’ll take it.”

Carpenter’s Short N’ Sweet album was also released today. The LP includes her recent hits “Expresso” and “Please Please Please,” which was recently covered in Spanglish by Omar Apollo. Next up, Ortega will star in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, released on Sept. 6.
