Karol G and Maluma are embracing funk carioca music with a Brazilian DJ. DENNIS teams up with the Colombian superstars for the “Tá OK” remix music video, released today (Aug. 3).

Back in May, DENNIS and Kevin o Chris first released their collaboration “Tá OK.” The song became a smash hit with over 129 million streams on Spotify. On YouTube, the original music video has over 63 million views. To expand the song’s global reach, DENNIS and Kevin o Chris joined forces with Karol G and Maluma. The remix marks an alliance between Duque de Caxias in Rio de Janeiro and Medellin, Colombia.

“I felt the time was perfect to call Maluma and invite him to join me on the official remix,” DENNIS shared in a statement. “It worked out super well. He loved it and sent me his vocals right away, and the music was ready in days. To have Karol G’s participation in the remix is also a dream come true. I’m a big fan of hers and I feel so grateful to have them both with me in the music video. This release is a great achievement in my career and a victory for me as an artist.”

The worlds of funk carioca, or baile funk, collide with reggaeton in the “Tá OK” music video. From Brazil, DENNIS transmits the energy of the “Rio Funk” era from the 2000s to where in the world his collaborators are. He does a FaceTime call with Maluma, who is in Brussels, and Karol G also gets in on the action from Los Angeles. All three settings are flanked by walls of giant speakers, which have become popular in Brazilian street parties. Kevin o Chris appears in the video as well.

The “Tá OK” remix arrives ahead of Karol G’s upcoming album Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season), which will be released on Aug. 11. Maluma previously collaborated with Brazilian artist Nego do Borel on their collaboration “Corazón.”
