Karol G premiered a new song during her set at Viña del Mar on Sunday (Feb. 19). The Colombian superstar performed “Mientras Me Curo del Cora” from her upcoming album Mañana Será Bonito for the first time.
Karol G made history with her performance at the Chilean music festival Viña del Mar. She became the first female reggaeton artist to headline the festival that kicked off on Sunday night. The first song he performed was “Mientras Me Curo del Cora,” accompanied by a woman who played the ukulele. In the feel-good song, she sang, “Tomorrow will be beautiful.” That is also the name of the album Mañana Será Bonito, which is coming out on Friday.
Karol G performed many songs for the first time during her set. Earlier this month, she released “X Si Volvemos” as the latest song from Mañana Será Bonito. At Viña del Mar, she sang both her and Romeo Santos’ parts of the sensual love song.
Karol G also highlighted Chilean artists during her set. Last year, she was set to feature on remix of Cris Mj’s hit “Una Noche En Medellín,” though plans later fell through. Although the remix was never officially released, Karol G brought out the Chilean singer to perform their duet of the song for the first time ever. She also invited Chilean singer Myriam Hernandez to the stage to sing “El Hombre Que Yo Amo” together.
Towards the end of her set, Karol G shouted out all the women who were set to perform at Viña del Mar. While naming Tini, Paloma Mami, Nicki Nicole, and Emilia, she added in Spanish, “This year, know that the women have a lot to say, a lot to do, and a lot to represent. Thanks to these strong and empowering women.”
