WATCH: Karol G Performs La Oreja De Van Gogh’s ‘Rosas’ in Madrid With Amaia Montero

Karol G performed a Spanish pop classic at her tour stop in Madrid on Sunday night (July 21). The Colombian superstar was joined by former La Oreja De Van Gogh singer Amaia Montero for a surprise performance of their hit “Rosas.”
After spending nearly a year on the road, Karol G is getting ready to wrap up her Mañana Será Bonito Tour. She is currently performing her final string of shows at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid. While in Spain, she brought out one of the country’s most beloved singers for night two. Montero, who is known for her time in La Oreja De Van Gogh, joined Karol G onstage. Together, they sang the Spanish group’s hit “Rosas” from the 2003 album Lo Que Te Conté Mientras Te Hacías La Dormida.
Though Montero decided to part ways with La Oreja De Van Gogh in 2007, the band’s most remembered classics feature her. Fans of Karol G and Montero praised their performance online. One person on X wrote, “I would say, without fear of being wrong, that Amaia Montero with Karol G is one of the best moments that Spanish musical culture has given us in recent years.” Another person added, “The reappearance of Amaia Montero on stage with Karol G is not only Spanish history but also an incredible message of superación.”
On the first night, Karol G shared her platform with another Spanish artist, rising singer-songwriter Borja. Following his nomination for Best New Artist at last year’s Latin Grammy Awards, he performed for his biggest crowd yet as her opening act, including his new single “Mallorca.” In an Instagram post, Borja shared his moment meeting La Bichota backstage.
Karol G’s Mañana Será Bonito Tour will officially wrap with the fourth show in Madrid on July 23. That final concert will also be livestreamed on her YouTube channel that same day.
