Karol G is celebrating both her birthday and Valentine’s Day in a special way. Today (Feb. 14), the Colombian superstar released her music video for “Contigo” featuring Tiësto and a surprise appearance from Young Miko.

This isn’t Karol G’s first time working with Tiësto or Young Miko. Karol G first linked up with Tiësto in 2021 for their collaboration “Don’t Be Shy.” Last year, the Dutch DJ released a remix of her smash hit “Provenza,” which was included in the Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season) album. On that same LP, Young Miko featured on “Dispo.” A moment went viral last year when Young Miko was perreando with Karol G while performing the song at one of her concerts.

“Contigo” interpolates Leona Lewis’ 2007 hit “Bleeding Love,” originally written by Jesse McCartney and One Republic’s Ryan Tedder. Tiësto transforms the dark love song into a Spanish house banger. Karol G sings about how much better her life is with that special someone in it. She gets emotional at the thought of ever losing them. Karol G is ready to burn up the clubs with this refreshing Latine adaptation of “Bleeding Love.”

Karol G went on YouTube live before the music video’s premiere. She called “Contigo” a gift to her fans and said it was a song “that talks about love and friendship.” Karol G appears to share a romance with Young Miko, who is openly lesbian, in the music video. Karol G and Young Miko are shown playing video games, showering, and perreando together. The gritty scenes of them together are reminiscent of the ones from Rihanna’s 2011 video “We Found Love.” From the Leona Lewis interpolation to the Rihanna references and the inclusion of Young Miko, the “Contigo” video is especially going to connect with Karol G’s LGBTQ+ fan base.

Karol G is currently touring Mexico with her Mañana Será Bonito Tour. She will visit Monterrey’s Estadio Mobil Super on Feb. 16 and 17.
