Aventura brought out a very special guest during their concert in Mexico City last night (Aug. 13). Romeo Santos was joined onstage by Mexican-American band Grupo Frontera to perform their recent collaboration for the first time, “Ángel.”

Back in February, Aventura revealed that they would reunite for a farewell tour. Romeo Santos and his bandmates wrapped up the U.S. leg of the Cerrando Ciclos Tour in June. Ahead of kicking off the Latin American leg of the tour in Mexico, Santos teamed up with Grupo Frontera for the song “Ángel” last month. The sensual love song uniquely blended elements of the band’s cumbia sound with bachata music that Santos and Aventura are known for.

Last night, Aventura’s Cerrando Ciclos Tour touched down in Mexico City at the Arena Ciudad De México. In the middle of the concert, Santos brought out Grupo Frontera as a surprise guest. He and the band’s lead singer Adelaido “Payo” Solís III belted out “Ángel” live for the first time. Their cumbia-chata song had the crowd going wild. All of the Aventura and Grupo Frontera members came together at the end to take in the loud cheers for their performance.

Aventura’s Cerrando Ciclos Tour will continue to visit different cities in Mexico this month. In October, the tour will make stops in Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile. Aventura will finish the year with stops in Venezuela, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and El Salvador.

Grupo Frontera kicked off their tour earlier this month in support of their latest album, Jugando A Que No Pasa Nada. The band’s next concert will take place in Laredo, TX, on Aug. 15. Throughout early October, Grupo Frontera will perform in concerts in cities across the U.S., and later in the month, the guys will make multiple stops in Mexico.
