After paying tribute to Gustavo Cerati in Argentina, Shakira surprised her fans with another special moment. On Dec. 9, the Colombian icon shared the stage with her two sons, Milan and Sasha, for the first time to perform “Acróstico” live. The trio sang the heartfelt song together at the Jose Amalfitani Stadium in Buenos Aires.
Milan and Sasha are no strangers to their mother’s music and acting career. Recently, Shakira has been involving her sons in her red carpet interviews for Zootopia 2, where not only does she star as Gazelle, but the kids also have a small part in the movie. Her sons have also accompanied her to multiple Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour stops throughout the global trek, singing along from the audience. Moreover, they have debuted as artists in their own project with the song “The One,” and of course, were featured on Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran’s “Acróstico.”
However, this is the first time that her two sons have sung their duet with Shak live. In last night’s show, Shakira sang “Acróstico” accompanied by a piano, as she usually does during the segment. After singing most of the song alone, Milan and Sasha joined their mother on stage, wearing suits that matched Shakira’s dress. Shakira looked visibly proud and happy to have her children join her on stage. “Acróstico” is a beautiful ballad featuring vulnerable lyrics, in which Shakira thanks her sons for helping her believe in love again after her split from their father, Gerard Piqué.
Though we don’t know if Milan and Sasha will continue to join their mother on stage, we can envision them being more involved in both the music and movie businesses in the future. Next up, Shakira will perform one final date in Buenos Aires (Dec. 11). This year, she will also perform in Córdoba, Argentina (Dec. 14 to 15) and Hollywood, FL (Dec. 27 to 29).
